Create book

The program is shipped with an opening book. This is a huge book with millions of positions. Here we show that you can create this book yourself too.

Create

  • Choose Book/New.
  • The books reside by default below Documents in the directory: BorKlaas\Tdam5\Book.
  • Browse to the directory where the books reside.
  • Choose a new name, for example BOOK, and press Open.
  • After opening you can see in the book screen the book name.
  • If the book screen is not visible choose Windows/Layout/Book to make it visible.
  • Because there are no positions in the book the screen is empty.
  • We advise to close the engine screen now, if visible, with Windows/Window/Engine.
  • Choose Book/Import to add a database to the book.
  • The databases reside by default below Documents in the directory: BorKlaas\Tdam5\Databases.
  • Browse to the directory where the databases reside.
  • Select the Mega Database and press Open.
  • The screen Book import appears.
  • By default alle games are imported.
  • By default the complete game is imported (Moves: 999).
  • At memory choose not more than half of the memory shown in blue.
  • Press Ok and wait until the book is generated (a few minutes).
  • When finished the program shows the number of positions added and the book screen is adjusted.
